The super sports car from Untertürkheim also set new technical standards. The body was made of glass fibre-reinforced plastic and was riveted and glued to the steel floor assembly. The wheel suspension utilised experience from motor racing and the powertrain component was a three-rotor Wankel engine that developed an output of 280 hp for a maximum speed of 270 km/h - a remarkable performance for the time. The C 111 was repeatedly used to set records, culminating in several world records over various distances. The miniature model of the experimental vehicle is a successful imitation of the original and impresses with its paintwork in an authentic colour shade and faithful reproduction of all interior details. The model is mounted on a printed base, in a presentation box. It is delivered in Mercedes-Benz Classic design packaging.
