At the Geneva Motor Show in March 1957, Mercedes-Benz presented the roadster version of the 300 SL as the successor to the Gullwing coupé. From the start, Max Hoffman had asked for this vehicle for the US market, since he saw greater chances for an open-top car there than for a coupé. Technically speaking, the Roadster was broadly similar to the coupé: modification to the side sections of the tubular space frame made it possible to reduce the sill height enough to accommodate normal doors.
300 SL Roadster, children’s pedal car. Ivory-coloured. Ages 3 to 5. Steel chassis. Handbrake. Accurate reproduction of front and rear bumpers, headlamps and radiator. Size: 122 x 52 x 42 cm. By toys toys for Mercedes-Benz.
